A Picnic by the Lake
It’s a sunny Sunday morning, and Alex and his friends are having a picnic by the lake. They arrived early to find the best spot. There is a large tree nearby that gives them shade, and there are lots of colorful flowers around. Alex spreads out a big blanket on the grass. There is a basket full of food on the blanket, and everyone is excited to eat.
Inside the basket, there is a loaf of bread, some cheese, and a jar of jam. There are also a few apples, bananas, and oranges. Mia brought some homemade cookies, and everyone loves them. There is also a bottle of orange juice and a small carton of milk. Alex says, “We have so much food! But wait, is there any water?” Mia checks the bag and says, “No, but there is a small shop near the parking lot. I’ll go and get some.”
While Mia goes to get the water, the rest of the group looks around. There are ducks swimming in the lake, and there are small fish near the shore. Alex points to the water and says, “Look! There is a turtle on that rock!” Everyone stops to watch the turtle, amazed by how still it is.
A little later, they all play games by the lake. There are kids flying kites, and there are families having picnics, just like them. One of Alex’s friends says, “This place is so lively! There are so many happy people here.” Another friend notices something strange and says, “Hey, is there a kite stuck in that tree?” Alex looks up and says, “Yes, there is! Someone must have lost it.”
After eating and playing, the group decides to explore the area. There is a small trail leading into the woods. They walk along it and discover more amazing things. There is a tiny waterfall, and there are lots of butterflies flying around. Mia takes pictures of everything. She says, “This place is beautiful! There is so much to enjoy here.”
As the sun sets, the group returns to their picnic spot. They start packing up their things. Mia says, “Wait, I think there is some trash left on the blanket.” Alex picks it up and says, “We need to leave the place clean. Let’s make sure there is nothing left behind.” When everything is packed, they look at the lake one last time and agree, “This was the best picnic ever!”
