“The Big Surprise Party”
It’s Saturday evening, and Emma is organizing a surprise party for her best friend, Sarah. Right now, Emma is decorating the living room. She is hanging colorful balloons and putting up a big banner that says, “Happy Birthday, Sarah!” She is also arranging the chairs and moving the table to make space for dancing.
In the kitchen, Emma’s brother, Jack, is helping with the food. He is making sandwiches and cutting a big chocolate cake. Their mom is preparing snacks and drinks on the table. She is pouring orange juice into glasses and putting ice in the punch bowl. The whole family is busy getting everything ready.
Meanwhile, Emma’s friends are arriving one by one. They are bringing gifts and laughing quietly so Sarah doesn’t hear them. Outside the house, Sarah’s parents are talking to her and keep distracting her. They are pretending to take her for a walk while everyone is preparing inside.
At the same time, Emma’s little sister is hiding behind the sofa. She is holding a party popper and waiting to surprise Sarah. She is whispering to her friends, “Shhh! Don’t make any noise!” The music is playing softly in the background, and everyone is whispering to each other, “Be quiet! She’s coming soon!”
Suddenly, Sarah arrives. She opens the door and shouts, “What’s going on?” Everyone jumps out and yells, “Surprise!” Sarah is smiling and laughing. She says, “This is amazing! Thank you, everyone!”
Now, everyone is singing “Happy Birthday” and taking pictures with Sarah. Some people are dancing in the living room, while others are eating snacks and chatting. Emma feels so happy because the party is fun. She says, “This is the best surprise party we’ve ever planned!”
