“A Surprise Gift for Paul”

It’s Saturday afternoon, and Emily is at the mall looking for a gift for her best friend, Paul. His birthday is next week, and she wants to surprise him with something special. She knows Paul loves action figures, so she heads straight to the toy store.

When Emily enters the shop, a friendly assistant greets her. “Good afternoon! How can I help you?” Emily smiles and says, “I’m looking for an action figure for my friend’s birthday. Do you have anything from the Super Galaxy series?”

The assistant nods and points to a shelf. “Yes, we have a few of them here. They are very popular!” Emily picks up a figure of Captain Star and examines it. “This looks cool! How much is it?” she asks. The assistant replies, “It’s $35, but we’re running a special promotion today. If you buy two toys, you get 20% off.”

Emily thinks for a moment and says, “That’s a great deal! Let me see what else you have.” She browses the shelves and finds a mini spaceship from the same series. “This would go perfectly with the Captain Star figure,” she says excitedly.

She takes both items to the counter and asks, “Can I use my loyalty card for an extra discount?” The cashier smiles and says, “Of course! You’ll get an additional 5% off.” After calculating the discounts, the cashier says, “Your total is $54. Would you like to pay with cash or card?”

Emily hands over her card and waits while the cashier wraps the toys in colorful paper. As she picks up the gift bag, the cashier says, “I hope your friend loves the surprise!” Emily smiles and replies, “I’m sure he will. Thank you for your help!”

As Emily walks out of the store, she feels excited. “Paul is going to love this! I can’t wait to see his face when he opens the gift,” she thinks.
